LONG BEACH 2028 · PURPLE HEART MUSEUM INITIATIVE
A proposed traveling museum visit honoring America’s combat-wounded veterans and connecting generations through remembrance, education, and service.

THE VISION
Chapter 210 is developing a proposal to host the National Purple Heart Honor Mission’s Mobile Tribute & Education Center in Long Beach in summer 2028.
Our goal is to bring Purple Heart recipients, fellow veterans, families, students, and community members together to learn about the sacrifices behind the medal—and the lives of service that continue afterward.
Devin Harris chairs the 2028 Planning Committee, with support from the Department of California and opportunities for other chapters to participate.
Meet the museum organizer ↗ACCESS · PARTICIPATION · CONTINUED SERVICE
We will seek connections with veteran athletes and adaptive-sports organizations to bring accessibility and participation into the conversation.
Potential activities include veteran-led conversations, student visits, and opportunities to learn about continued service after injury. Organizations and speakers will be identified as partners only after their participation is confirmed.
Purple Heart Day, August 7, 2028, is a proposed focal date for the visit, subject to museum availability and hosting arrangements. It falls between the scheduled July 14–30 Olympic Games and August 15–27 Paralympic Games.

Confirm the venue, accessibility, dates, operating needs, and costs.
Develop sponsorships, veteran participation, volunteer roles, and school outreach.
Host the visit and share attendance, activities, expenses, and outcomes.
The fundraising target will follow the approved hosting scope and cost estimates. Once approved, updates will distinguish funds received from pledges.
